This will be Mrs. Powell’s seventh year teaching theatre and fifth year at Indian Springs Middle School. Hannah Powell is a graduate from Texas A&M-University Corpus Christi with a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Acting. At TAMU-CC, Hannah acted in over twenty productions. Some of her favorite roles include Mother Hicks in Mother Hicks, Brutus in Julius Caesar, and Hermione in The Winter's Tale. For her role of Hermione, Hannah was nominated for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s Irene Ryan Acting Award. Hannah has also worked with Missoula Children's Theatre based out of Missoula, Montana. As a Tour Actor/Director for Missoula Children’s Theatre, Hannah traveled through Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Canada teaching and directing students with ages ranging from five to eighteen years old . Previously, Mrs. Powell was the theatre teacher/director at Hillsboro Junior High. Under Mrs. Powell’s direction, Hillsboro Junior High placed 1st in One Act Play in 2019 and won three acting awards including best actor and 2nd in One Act Play in 2018 and won three acting awards including best actress in their district competition. At Indian Springs Middle School, Mrs. Powell has assistant directed One Act Plays that have placed 2nd at the competiiton, This Random World, and have received a Superior Rating, Proof.
Mrs. Powell has been teaching at Indian Springs Middle School in Keller ISD for the past 4 years. Mrs. Powell has assistant directed and directed over 11 productions at ISMS. While every production has been special, some of Mrs. Powell's favorite productions include, Proof, Steel Magnolias, Wiley and the Hairy Man, and Freaky Friday the Musical.
Mrs. Powell loves working with student actors and is excited for another year of some fantastic theatre!
Mr. Couch just completed his 14th year of teaching and second year at Parkwood Hill Intermediate in Keller ISD. Ryan Couch grew up in Grand Prairie, TX and is a graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with bachelor's degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Acting & Directing. Ryan has acted in over 40 productions from his youth and onto the collegiate and professional level. Some of his favorite performances include Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Romeo in Shakespeare’s R&J, Percy Bysshe Shelley in Bloody Poetry, and Colonel Brandon in Sense & Sensibility. Ryan is a two time Irene Ryan acting award recipient and has performed twice at the William Inge Theatre Festival in Independence, Kansas. Before joining the Keller ISD family, Ryan spent twelve years teaching theatre in Grand Prairie ISD where he directed over 25 productions including multiple Superior rated Middle School One-Act Play productions and helped guide young actors to 6 Best Actor/Actress awards. In his free time Mr. Couch enjoys painting, playing D&D, and hanging out with his family! Ryan is excited to be back at SpotOn! Theatre Camp!
Olivia Lane is currently in her fifth year of teaching, as the Head Choir Director at Keller Middle School. She graduated from Keller High School in 2015, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Texas Christian University in 2019. She graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Chancellor’s Scholar of Music. At Keller Middle, Olivia directs the Varsity Treble Choir, Tenor-Bass Choir, and Legend Show Choir. Choirs under her direction have consistently earned sweepstakes ratings at UIL and Superior Ratings at choral festivals.
Brittany Mejia is the Head Director of Theatre at Hillwood Middle School, in her 8th year of teaching. She grew up in Keller, graduating from Central High School in 2009. She went to University of North Texas where she studied Fine Arts Education, History, and Developmental Family Studies. She has been on the directing team of over 20 plays, and is very excited to work with Spot On! This year, she directed the first sold out musical at HMS, and was awarded Second Place at the Keller ISD One Act Contest with The Diviners. Musical Theatre has been her passion since childhood, and she loves to help other people grow their love for the stage.
Katelyn founded Spot On! Theatre Tx in 2023. She was a teacher in Keller ISD for 7 years, teaching theatre for 5th-8th grade at various campuses. Katelyn has such a passion for educational theatre and has continued that passion in her adventure, as Education Manager at Casa Mañana.
